Are You Feeling Overwhelmed?

Do you feel that you have too much on your plate?
Do you have too many balls in the air at once?
Are you unsure of what to do next as there seems to be too much to do?

If you are anything like me, you will have so many projects on the go that you will never be bored. Now, I realise that many people don’t live like me and may even think I am crazy. However there are some of you like me. So let’s get back to the people like me with too many projects on the go.

Have you ever been in the position where you have a mind freeze about what to next? If you relate to this you will understand that having so many projects on the go can create a fog that befuddles the mind. I was wandering in this fog and then my son repeated a quote for me, which helped clear things up for me:

“If you are surrounded, then you can attack in any direction”

It got me thinking about being overwhelmed in two ways. The first is that you need to focus on one task at a time. The second is in how you select that task?

I would normally answer what is the most important task to move you in the direction of your life’s purpose. However I also understand that it is not always that easy as there could be a number of tasks that are about as important as each other.

In a situation where there are a number of important tasks I would challenge you to just pick one, any one. As long as it is an important task, just pick one and follow it through to the end. Doing so will mean that you can cross one important task off your list and don’t have to think about it again. The consequence of not thinking about the task anymore is a lifting of the fog of confusion, one task at a time.

Do you have many important tasks to complete?
Do they all seem as important as each one?
Which one are you going to do and complete (Just pick one, anyone)?
